Pop-Up Installations
Having started with an ask from a romantic wanting a same-day interior design surprise for his long-distance girlfriend's visit, Annie designs simple to elaborate scenes. Assign a budget, let us know a bit about the person who will enjoy it, and a theme (unless you'd like it to be a surprise to you, too), and we'll build an experience in just a few hours. Take down can then be in as short a turn-around as you'd like, and we can organize more than the design, as we also offer unique gift ideas and staycation planning.
BLANKET & PILLOW FORT
Built of existing furniture for a man surprising his girlfriend visiting en route to Paris | plants and tikis from a neighboring nursery / poetry books / sleepover games / sexy novels / an antique French newspaper from 1871 / a trip planner (all from nearby Argosy Vintage Books on East 59th, NYC) / roses / Polaroid camera / candles / initial mugs with bags of her favorite tea / pajamas / queued playlist of requested songs
TROPICAL HAMMOCK SCENE
Built in an empty apartment for a couple that had to cancel their rugged trip to Mexico | hammock and canopy / pillows / quilt throw / patio rug / astroturf / battery-powered fairy lights / enlarged, mounted and wire-punch-hung grad school plans secretly given by her man in advance because he wants to "lay and discuss her ideas" / stacked camping wine cups / crystal cups as well with champagne and drinking water / camping books / glow-in-the-dark stars / cheesy inspiration books / camping socks / chocolate / candles / tropical prints / mistletoe (December) / lanterns / banana pencil cases filled with products of her favorite essential oil / face masks / moon water / a jigsaw puzzle / butterfly post-its / markers / flowers.
The hammock, stand and canopy were sent from an online store three days prior, but the rest was purchased the day-of from stores within five blocks of the site.
PERSONALIZED RETREAT HOTEL ROOM CONVERSION
The recipient arrived to a regular room, and Annie swooped in to transform it while they were at dinner | welcome sign as if home / pampering products according to her favorites scents / personalized playlist / games / party hats / poppers / fake tattoos / candles / roses / phrase magnets / a favorite letter she'd sent him a year prior / an appointment at the spa downstairs
He asked if the same hammock idea were possible as above, and this was the upgraded suggestion, using only the furniture and sheets available in the original hotel room.
