The Build is an artistic workshop and residency invitation,

offering rentals and set locations to those developing new work.

The director who has outfitted and tailored the spaces for ease, comfort and inspiration has worked as an interior designer, casting director, programmer, coach, photographer and videographer, story, script and poetry editor, and has participated in workshops and conferences across genres as a panelist and performer since childhood. The collaborating hosts include her in-part co-owner brother, a fashion photographer, artistic director and academic, and a property management craftsmen who is as well a musician and playwright.

  In the networking realm, she has hosted over two hundred longtable dinners around the world, most notably under the term 'Women's Dinner' of many years with the largest being 75 seats, and ran talent-share evenings with large numbers of participants in Los Angeles and New York under the name The Parlour Salon. When the living room event expanded to as well being hosted in Upstate New York in 2015, what was not yet called The Barn on West Ridge at the time was rented with the supportive then-owner additionally contributing local audience (she herself runs The Hudson Valley Film Festival). When she decided to sell the property in 2022 after then years of such salons, it became clear who the next owners should be and that The Build would be part of its purpose.
